And today, the ruins of a palace in Chwalimierz in Lower Silesia - romantic and mysterious, located on a wooded hill.

Lower Silesia is saturated with palaces, castles and manors like few places in the world. Chwalimierz is the ruins of a 19th-century palace built by the German magnate Gerg Kramst (Lower Silesia belonged to Prussia from around the mid-18th century. It is now in Poland).

The remains of the ruins give an idea of the size of this palace.

How to get there? Chwalimierz is located near Środa Śląska, on the route from this city to Sobótka. Enter "Castle Gate in Chwalimierz" on your GPS. You have to park your car nearby and it's best to ask a local how to get there. These ruins are also marked on GPS. The walk takes about 7-10 minutes.

The ruins of one of the towers, really very tall and soaring, are certainly impressive.

I'm curious, so I look here and there.

These are ruins, so you have to be careful and, as in the mountains, remember the rule                              of  three support points.

You can't just walk in everywhere.

Another romantic photo in sneakers. Heh

I tried to climb some more, but wall was fragile and uncertain.

A short reflection on the fragility of human life and the transience of human achievements.

Although it was not a mountain peak from the Crown of Polish Mountains,                                              this element had to be found here as well. Heh.

And after sightseeing. It was worth seeing the ruins of the once huge palace, which was devastated for dozens of years after World War II. There are several hundred such places, large and small, in Lower Silesia.

It's not the end yet, because at the end, in some unspecified place on the forest road.... My car broke down.

Someone help fix it? because I don't know anything about cars. Heh.

Bye!!!! See you in the next post or somewhere on the web...

  2. Wow... Nice tower... I love ruins... but I will say for the record that your twin towers with their large pink crowns are equally impressive and certainly not in ruines like the one visited! What a breeze of fresh air you are! Keep up this great work. You are a one of a kind travel guide... And you are certainly increasing my desire to visit Poland. Yours Truly. Guido.

  3. Hmmm, If the structure you wanted to clim on was fragile and uncertain... One thing very certain is how splendid this point of few is. Despite surrounding ruins, there was one very uplifting and inspiring cimetrical structure in the scenery...
